Immigrant Surveys & Reports Your input is essential to help us understand diverse perspectives and improve support for newcomers in Wood Buffalo. Survey Reports & Research LIP Research Report 2022 ➜ (Wood Buffalo Region) This report provides the most recent assessment to the needs and gaps of newcomers in the Wood Buffalo Region. 2019 YMCA Immigrant Needs Assessment and Gaps Analysis ➜ In 2019, the YMCA of Northern Alberta contracted Willow Springs Strategic Solutions (WSSS) to conduct an immigrant services needs assessment and gap analysis for Fort McMurray, Alberta. This research project was designed to complement and augment the more comprehensive 2017 NIN study via its focus upon immigrants who had never accessed settlement services in Fort McMurray, capacity constraints faced by Service Provider Organizations (SPOs), and gap analysis and recommendations supporting strategic planning for the NIN and Local Immigration Partnership (LIP). The online survey was made available to residents of Fort McMurray and service providers from June to August 2019. 2017 Newcomers Needs Assessment Report ➜ In January 2017, the Newcomer Interagency Network (NIN) commissioned Habitus Consulting Collective to assess newcomer needs, gaps, and services to provide a baseline understanding of their settlement outcomes in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB). This project was funded by Immigration, Refugee Citizenship Canada (IRCC). It engaged over 700 newcomers and over 40 different organizations, institutions, businesses, and programs. One of the key drivers of this project was to gather evidence that would help stakeholders working with newcomers to understand the needs and challenges of settlement. Overall, the report helped identify future priorities to support long-term planning for the NIN and other organizations working with newcomers in the RMWB. Privacy Statement - LIP
